Description:

A photograph of a lively scene in front of Pra Arthit Fort in Bangkok taken in about 1900. The fort was constructed during the reign of King Rama I. At the time the king decided to build a number of fortifications to protect Bangkok. Many of these forts have since been dismantled.

The photograph may have been taken by Antonio a photographer, from Macau on the south coast of China, who set up a photography studio in Bangkok.
