Description:
Following the success of the Mercator / Hondius Atlas Major in 1606 Jodocus Hondius published the smaller format, Atlas Minor from 1607. Two maps of China appeared in some of the quarto atlases one of which was based on the Ortelius folio map of 1584 with north to the right. Luconia (Luzon) appears in this map. The other China map was based on the Mercator / Hondius folio map of 1606.
This is the China map based on the Mercator / Hondius folio map of 1606.
