Vue et plan de la Colonie Singapore aux Indes Orientales.
The first plan of the Town of Singapore was a scheme devised by Sir Stamford Raffles and the colony's engineer and land surveyor, Lieutenant Philip Jackson, in 1822. It was also known as the Jackson Plan or Raffles Town Plan. The map was first printed in 1828.
The plan was copied and first published by John Crawfurd in 1828.
This engraving Plan der Stadt Singapore was published a year later in 1829 in Europe based on the Crawfurd plan. Above the plan is a minature aquatint view of Singapore with original hand colour.
