This map belonged to a man who used it to write a book about his escape from a Prisoner of War camp at Sham Shui Po on July 17th 1944. This dangerous escape over several months, assisted by the British Army Aid Group, and the British Military, saw the escapee return to his homeland, New Zealand - one of the most daring escapes of WW 2. His escape from the POW camp, following a dangerous climb over an electrified fence, were spent in typhoon conditions that no doubt prevented him being tracked down by searching troops and dogs.
This is a scarce map of "The Greater Bay Area" in 1938.
