One of the smallest engraved maps of China appeared in a world geography produced by the German geographer and cartographer, Johan Ulrich Muller (1633 - 1715) in 1692. In all there were 103 tiny maps of which sixteen related to the countries of Asia. A decade later in 1702 an enlarged German edition of this miniature atlas was published with 163 maps. They were printed on thicker paper without any text. Titles were added to most of the maps.
This map is entitled 'China' in a panel lower right and was published in a German edition of 1692.
