Description:
This is a rare Chinese woodblock map of Beijing or Peking after the siege and then occupation by allied troops in 1900. It is printed in black ink on indigenous paper. The streets, buildings and landmarks are in Chinese.
This map belonged to a soldier of the Japanese army. There are manuscript notes to the side of the map. Also Japanese flags have been drawn onto the upper gates of the city.
