A rare city plan of Hong Kong printed in Manila in 1897 by Chofré y Comp. It was folded into the official guide to the Philippines, "la Guia Oficial de las Islas Filipinas del ano 1897".
Salvador Chofré was a Spanish publisher who emigrated to Manila in the late 19th century. He was involved with publishing the official guide book of the Philippines for the government. He also published a rare map of the Philippine Islands in 1898.
This is only the second time we have had this map. The first time was about 30 years ago.
Condition: The paper is quite fragile and there are some tears along the folding lines which have been supported on the reverse.
