A view of the Praia Grande from Bom Parto Fort. Elegant houses line the crescent shaped waterfront. In the middle of the picture is the Monte Fort on the hill and to the right is the Guia Hill. Various churches are shown including Sao Lourenco,  St Paul's and Se Cathedral. Chinese sampans appear on the foreshore and junks are moored further out to sea. A sandy beach  is depicted in front of the Praia.

A well painted view by a Canton artist whose studio was probably in one of the lanes behind the factories. Using a popular method of the time of gouache on pith paper. Entitled in Dutch in sepia ink beneath the painting, "Het gezigt van Macao in China". Which translated means, "The view of Macao in China".
