Description:
A charming view of the Ama Temple in Macau. This watercolour is based on an oil painting of 'The Ma Kok Temple of Macau' by William Prinsep. G.H. R. Tillotson refers to this painting as Prinsep's masterpiece. The original is in the collection of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank.
Perhaps it was commissioned in the early twentieth century as a gift for an admirer of the original.
