A beautifully painted full length portrait of a bearded Chinese mandarin in robes of rank holding an auspicious piece of jade and with a coral bead necklace.
Sold together with a portrait of a Chinese lady holding a flower.
Painted by an unknown Canton artist who was probably working in a studio behind the foreign factories at Canton in about 1800.
