Description:

A very unusual early large plate albumen photograph of Morrison Hill and the Protestant cemetery in Happy Valley. The memorial chapel has bamboo scaffolding.

 

Possibly photographers are Dutton & Michaels, Weed and Howard or Milton Miller who were all working in Hong Kong in the early 1860s. Felix Beato also visited in 1860.

 

Most likely taken by Weed and Howard in 1860 towards the end of the second Opium War.
