From a sketch on the spot by Lieut. White, Royal Marines.

In 1841 there were two Chinese forts on the tip of Tsim Sha Tsui . The British called them Victoria and Albert.
The English artist Thomas Allom produced a watercolour of Fort Victoria, Kowloon based on another watercolour by Lt. White, a British Royal Marine. A charming and somewhat romantic view of the fort with the harbour and a dramatic rendition of Hong Kong Island looming beyond.
